This is a detail showing a piece of paper, on which is a poem, written by the boats designer, Piero Rivolta.

My first attempt at this failed miserably. I wanted to write something in Italian, and surprise the owner, so I did my research and found what I thought was an appropriate passage by a famous author. I then used an online translator to translate to Italian. When the owner tried to read it, he laughed and said it was nonsense and later emailed verses from his own book of poetry, in real Italian.
Lesson learned:-)
